Marie Ramos

Marie started dancing ballet at an early age of 5 in California and later continued in the Philippines with teachers Nida Onglengco, Pinky Puno, Julie Borremeo, Tony Fabella, Eddie Elejar, and Luther Perez. During her college days, while pursuing a degree in BSC Marketing and Graduate studies in Business and Education, she also studied Dance at the University of the Philippines College of Music. She has worked with Tita Radaic, Vella Damian, Sofia Elizalde, and Malen Claravall on various projects in the past.

She danced with the Manila Metropolis Ballet as a company member under the direction of Tony Fabella and Eddie Elejar, after which she left for Toronto, Canada, where she was introduced to the teaching of the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus.

Upon her return to the Philippines, she continued with her RAD training with Sonia Domingo and Joined the teachers seminars conducted by visiting examiners Pamela Hunt, Precilla Teoh, Carol Spears, Lynette Kelly, and Lyn Wallis the former artistic director of RAD.  In May 2000, she was awarded the Royal Academy of Dancing teacher certificate having successfully fulfilled the qualifying requirements and exams for the Teaching Certificate Program in Classical Ballet.

 

Concurrently, Marie is an institutional member and former officer of the Association of Ballet Academies of the Philippines (ABAP) and a member of the Royal Academy of Dance Teachers standard board of ballet in the Philippines, these are registered teachers who are accredited to train and teach students for the international RAD examinations conducted annually in the country.
